America's Most Wanted to feature Red Lake Case, Avery Stately and
Tristan
White Missing
Brothers Disappear Without A Trace
On Wednesday Nov. 22, Avery Lee Stately, 2, and his brother Tristan
Anthony
White, 4, spent the morning playing outside of their home in Red Lake, Minnesota. But the children never returned home, sparking a massive
search.
As soon as family members reported the children missing, the FBI and
other
law enforcement agencies collaborated to search for the children.
However,
police did not issue an AMBER Alert because they say there is not proof
that
the boys were abducted. Over the holiday weekend, search groups combed
the
Red Lake area as well as the wooded area near the boys' home. But
unfortunately, police say there was not even the slightest trace of the
children.
On Nov. 27, 2006 police called off the massive ground patrols that had
been
underway. However, that does not mean the search for the boys is over.
Police are encouraging vigilance in the Red Lake area -- but they're
also
encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
Both boys are Native American. Avery is 2' tall and has black hair and
brown
eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey sweater with the word
"Timberland" on
it. He was also wearing Spiderman tennis shoes. Tristan is 3'6" tall
and has
black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Spiderman jacket
with
yellow trim and Levi's jeans. The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for
information leading to the boys.
'My babies are gone,' Red Lake mom pleads
The Minneapolis-St. Paul Pioneer Press
November 24, 2006
Right now, we don't have an indication either way As another
agonizing day
passed with no sign of two young boys missing in Red Lake, Minn., their
mother made a tearful appeal for help from anyone who might have
information.
'If anybody knows anything, seen anything, where the whereabouts of my
babies are - they were just playing outside last time I seen them,'
said
Alicia White during a Friday afternoon news conference in the far
northern
Minnesota community of 1,400.
Tristan Anthony White, 4, and Avery Lee Stately, 2, were last seen
Wednesday.
'My babies are gone, out there in the cold, by themselves,' White said.
She said Tristan has a medical condition that requires medication. He
didn't
take it Wednesday morning. White said the boy 'loves water' and has
wandered
off before. 'But we always found him,' she said. 'This is the first
time we
didn't find him.'
Avery is 'the sweetest little boy, just lovey-dovey,' and would follow
his
brother anywhere, the mother said.
The boys' older brother, Lamont White, 8, stood by his mother at the
news
conference. The family also has twin 1-year-old girls.
The brothers' grandfather, Myron Jones, thanked the volunteers who have
been
helping comb the wooded area for the boys. 'I'm praying for the best,'
he
said.
But on the third day of the search, it appeared the investigation was
no
further along than it had been on Wednesday, when the boys disappeared.
Law enforcement officials continued to pursue two possibilities: that
the
brothers wandered off into the woods and got lost, or that there was
foul
play.
'Right now, we don't have an indication either way,' said FBI Special
Agent
Paul McCabe.
The two children were playing outside their home in the Walking Shield
area
of the Red Lake Indian Reservation when they disappeared Wednesday
morning,
the FBI said.
Searchers renewed efforts Friday to find the children.
'There's quite an extensive ground search going on again - it continues
to
expand each day,' McCabe said.
A team from the Minnesota Search Dog Network arrived late Thursday and
searched until 2:30 a.m. Friday, McCabe said. Team Adam, a group of
retired
law enforcement professionals from the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children, including a top search-and-rescue worker from
Alaska,
also pitched in.
They were joined by a dive team from St. Louis County. Team members
planned
to search three or four lakes in the back side of the woods near where
the
boys disappeared, though there were no signs that they had broken
through
the ice, McCabe said.
And about 30 members of the Civil Air Patrol joined other law
enforcement
and citizen volunteers in the search.
Among the searchers Thursday were Al Downwind and his children:
Danielle,
11, Alvin, 13, and Brandon, 7. 'We felt the need to help,' Downwind
said.
'All I know is that there are two young boys missing.'
Area temperatures reached the mid-40s Friday afternoon with lows in the
low
to mid-20s expected early today.
The FBI offered a reward of $20,000 Friday for information leading to
the
two brothers.
The boys, both American Indian, have short brown hair and brown eyes.
Tristan was described as 3 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a dark blue
Spider-Man jacket with yellow trim, Levi's jeans and black and gray
winter
boots. Avery was described as 2 feet tall and wearing a gray pullover
sweat
shirt that says 'Timberland' on the front, faded Levi's jeans and
Spider-Man
tennis shoes.
RED LAKE, Minn. - The search resumed Thursday for two young brothers
who
were reported missing on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern
Minnesota early Wednesday.
Tristan Anthony White, 4, and Avery Lee Stately, 2, disappeared from a
yard
in the Walking Shield area of the city of Red Lake between 9:30 a.m.
and
9:50 a.m. Wednesday, the FBI said.
The home is near woods, which were searched on the ground and by air on
Wednesday.
Police were called after the boys' mother didn't see them playing
outside,
Tribal Chairman Floyd (Buck) Jourdain said. Hundreds of people then
joined
in the ground search.
"We've mobilized the community," Jourdain said Wednesday. "We've
already
covered a lot of area, but have not seen hide or hair of them. We won't
give
up."
The boys, both American Indian, have short brown hair and brown eyes.
Tristan was described as 3-feet-6 and wearing a dark blue Spider-man
jacket
with yellow trim, Levis jeans and black and gray winter boots. Avery
was
described as 2-feet tall and wearing a gray pullover sweat shirt that
says
"Timberland" on the front, faded Levis jeans and Spider-man tennis
shoes.

FBI: Rules out abduction by relative in missing Red Lake boys
RED LAKE, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities believe they have ruled out an
abduction
by a relative in the disappearance of two young brothers.
Tristan White, 4, and Avery Stately, 2, disappeared the day before
Thanksgiving after going to play outside their house on the Red Lake
Indian
Reservation. Major ground searches failed to find the boys.
FBI spokesman Paul McCabe said more than 200 leads have been pursued
since
the boys disappeared, and hundreds of interviews conducted.
"We feel fairly confident that no relatives have the children, as we've
been
able to track down all the immediate family and next-line relatives,"
McCabe
said in an interview Tuesday on WCCO-AM in Minneapolis.
The FBI last week offered a $20,000 reward for information that leads
to the
boys.
The boys, both American Indian, have short brown hair and brown eyes.
Tristan was described as 3-feet-6 and wearing a dark blue Spider-man
jacket
with yellow trim, Levis jeans and black and gray winter boots. Avery
was
described as 2-feet tall and wearing a gray pullover sweat shirt that
says
"Timberland" on the front, faded Levis jeans and Spider-Man tennis
shoes.

"Life, the circle, a measurement with no beginning and no end."
--Phillip Deere, MUSKOGEE-CREEK
The circle teaches us how the Creator made things and how to live. It teaches us how we should look at creation. Life travels in a circle. In the East is the baby, to the South is the youth, in the West is the adult and in the North is the Elder. Then we return to the Earth Mother to start the cycle again. We observe what is `around us' from the center of the circle. This develops our point of view. We must be careful not to become self-centered.
Great Spirit, let me observe life from the circle's point of view.

"People say that crisis changes people and turns ordinary people into wiser or more responsible ones."
--Wilma Mankiller, CHEROKEE
There is a saying, conflict precedes clarity. The Medicine Wheel teachings say, in order for something to change it must first go through a struggle. When a crisis enters our lives, other powers are there to help us. We will learn some lessons. Will I honor and respect the next crisis?
Great Spirit, if a crisis occurs today, let me learn the lessons of wisdom | | | |

"The Natural Law is a spiritual law. Its powers are both light and dark."
--Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman Traditional Circle of Elders
There are some characteristics that are evident in the system which the Creator made. He made balance, harmony and polarity. In other words, every (+) plus has a (-) minus. Every positive has a negative; every up has a down; every problem has a solution. The Spiritual Law is the same-it has light and dark. Both are good, so both need to be honored. Lessons can be learned on both sides.
Great Spirit, teach me the powers of the Natural Laws. | | | |
